Once you have your materials on hand, you have to figure out how to put them all together. Below are the steps:
Sizing the components:
- Determine the overall size of your tabletop.
- Measure the square portion at the tops of your legs to determine the width for the apron stock. The aprons need not be as wide as the square portion is long; in fact, it is often desirable to leave the aprons slightly narrower than this portion of the table leg.
- Next, size the apron stock on the table saw, or with a circular saw equipped with a rip fence or straightedge.
- Determine the size of the table and then cut the apron stock to length. This length should be the finished length of the apron as measured between the legs of the finished table.
