Flat Pack Furniture Upgrade

Flat pack furniture has become very popular over the last few decades, but did you know it was first invented by Erie J. Sauder way back in 1951?  Swedish draftsman Gillis Lundgren is said to have cut the legs off a table in order to get it in his vehicle, later putting them back on at home. He discussed this idea with his employer, IKEA, who launched their first flat packed piece of furniture in 1956. As they say, the rest is history.

The PlanSupplies

Before working on any project I like to see if I can use what we already have. In this case I used left overs from a couple different projects and a set of unfinished wood curtain rod finials and paint I happened to have on hand. Taking those supplies to the garage where the cabinet was I set out to make this plane Jane into an acceptable cabinet for the master bathroom.
