Adding Cording, Step One:
Measure the circumference of pillow, adding a couple inches before cutting the cord. To keep the cord from fraying, you can wrap it with clear tape where the cut will be. Turn cover right side out and carefully place cording next to the seam, as shown in the photo. I used pins to keep cording in place while working. Make sure to remove them all before you start sewing.
