Now that you’ve purged your closet of excess clothing, it’s time to make it more functional. Once complete you’ll be able to find the perfect top to go with your favorite pair of jeans without combing through the whole closet.
Almost everyone I polled for last weeks article on purging a closet said they organize their clothing in groups. Tops and dresses by sleeve length and bottoms by pant or skirt length. Others went a step further and colorized them. I’m in the later group. If I had my way every thing, other than nature, would either be color coded or alphabetized.
In the example on the right you can see I have sleeveless to short sleeve tops on the upper rod and three quarter to long sleeve tops on the bottom rod. Although I don’t wear every color of the rainbow, they are color coded. I use the color order from top down shown on the left side of the photo. Any color I don’t have, I skip.
