How to Paint a Lamp With Spray Paint

Lay out the drop cloth, cardboard or newspaper in a well ventilated area (I worked outdoors).

Use masking tape to cover the parts of the lamp that you don’t want painted.  I used a baggie to stuff the lamp cord into and then taped the top of the bag and the part of the cord that connects closest to the base of the lamp.

Stuff a bit of paper towel or newsprint into the socket of the lamp to ensure you don’t coat the contact points.
