Prepare now for spring flooding

With the world’s eyes fixed on the aftermath of the tsunami in Japan, it’s a harsh reminder of the sheer power unbounded water has to destroy and damage property.  As the weather warms and the snow thaws for much of our country, it is important to not be unprepared for the event of a flood that could affect your home.

On average, U.S. consumers lose about $2.4 billion every year from flood damage. You can mitigate that risk with flood insurance, but it’s important to understand flood insurance’s terms and conditions.
