There are several new options available to update a kitchen backsplash.  Companies such as offer kits for do-it-yourselfers.  Making it both simple and affordable to change your backsplash in a just a days time.  This and other similar products are designed to be installed over the existing backsplash (if any) so you can avoid having to tear out old tiles as well as having to repair or replace the drywall or plaster which will be a great time and budget saver.

Windows Update (I am not talking about Microsoft):

Do you have the same miniblinds from the 80’s still on your windows?  It is time to update your windows coverings with either blinds or with curtains (or even both).  This is a very budget friendly as well as an easy task for DIYers. Also, there are a number of window covering companies that can easily handle updating this for you.

The weather is starting to cool down throughout much of the country.  Start planning your updates now as winter is an excellent time of year to do these minor kitchen remodeling projects. A note of caution regarding lead paint for those living in homes built prior to 1978. Lead paint is a hazard likely present in your home and when doing any house renovation you should take particular care for the health of children, adults and pets living in your home!
