Gutters and Roof

Lots of branches fall during the winter and end up in the gutter. Clean the gutters using a sturdy ladder and bucket. Pull out the strainers from the downspouts and remove any sticks caught in the mesh. Use a garden hose to wash out any remaining bits of dirt and debris.

While on the ladder, inspect the shingles for damage. Ice damming during the winter can severely damage roofs and create leaks. Use binoculars if you are uncomfortable on a ladder. Call a professional to replace any damaged shingles.

Keep the gutters clear of debris to allow water to flow freely
