Art tray makeoverA wooden tray takes on a fresh new look with a little paint, some magic markers and a subway style graphic image. Here’s the how-to:

Materials and Prepping

  • Wood Tray
  • White Latex Paint
  • Magic Markers in varying sizes
  • HB Pencils
  • Printout of image
  • Dark or Clear Paste Wax
  • Medium Grit Sanding Sponge

Lightly sand the tray with the sanding sponge. Wipe down the tray with tack cloth or a damp rag to remove all traces of dust. Allow tray to dry before applying two coats of paint. If the tray has a very shiny finish, you will need to use an oil based primer before painting with the latex paint. Allow paint to dry for 24 hours.
