Pie Crust Pedistal Table From Shabby to Chic

February 18, 2014 by Becky Alexander-Conrad

I never quite understood Shabby Chic design style. Shabby meaning “in poor condition” and Chic  being “elegant and sophisticated“.  An oxymoron if I ever heard one. I started out with a simple hand built “antique” pantry made from what was once most likely standard sizes of lumber and sheet metal in the panels on the doors.

Though it had taken a beating over the years I decided not to smooth out or fill in any of it’s flaws before repainting it. They gave it character.

Some might say so did the, what I call the “eighties bangs”, at the top front, but not I. So off those pieces came.
