Vintage Refrigerator Update

Social networking swap sites are a great resource for the rare and unusual and our old Crosley refrigerator is no exception.  When I got to the house where the refrigerator was listed, there was only one young girl there.  She was selling off her deceased uncle’s belongings and badly wanted everything gone.  I managed to purchase this still-working jewel from the 50’s for a meager $40.  You should have seen the two of us get it in the truck!

After standing the refrigerator up for a full day without plugging it in, we moved the refrigerator into the house and began pondering its paint job.  We settled on, once again, CeCe Caldwell’s paint in Simply White, Chesapeake Blue, and Emerald Isle.  The great thing about chalk and clay paint is that it will stick to darn near anything, so a simple cleaning was all that was necessary before adding the color coats.  We finished up with a clear poly sealer and have been enjoying it in our craft room ever since.
