I called McMahon on Saturday to get help with my water heater. I was told it was an extra cost to come on Saturday so I said I could wait until Monday. I was told they’d try to get me in as early as possible on Monday since I would be on day 3 no heat or hot water. I was told I’d get an update on Monday. After not getting a call, I called at noon on Monday for an update. They got here around 3:30pm, diagnosed the problem, mentioned a couple times just installing a new water heater, then said I’d hear back about an estimate and that you would also send a quote for a new water heater. I waited. I heard nothing.
I called at 4pm on Tuesday to see about the estimate sincecthat was 24 hours with no update. I was told I’d get a call back. I heard nothing.
I called this morning at 9am for an update. I was told I’d get a call back. I heard nothing and at 11am saw that this estimate had been sent but no one had called me.
I called to schedule the repair and better understand the costs. I was told I would get a call back. I implored the person to make sure someone actually called me because I’m on day 5 no heat or hot water and no promise of a call back had happened over the previous 4 days. Then they call me back to tell me they won’t explain the costs and that the problem can’t be fixed until Monday.
This other plumber came here just now, got on the phone with the manufacturer and gave me an estimate and timeline on the spot. And they put in the order for the part right away. And they didn’t ask me for 50% down, either. Plus they came out for free.
I’m left feeling like if I’d called them on Saturday, I would have had the part ordered Monday and would have been much closer to getting my heater repaired. And I wouldn’t be out $247 to McMahon for nothing.
I highly recommend McMahon Plumbing & Heating, who provided a great customer experience from the beginning to the end.
They installed heat pumps in our house, which included 2 outdoor condensers and 6 head units inside, as well as replaced our water heater with a new hybrid heat pump electric tank, and installed 2 electric base boards.
The quality of the equipment and parts used, as well as the craftsmanship of their technicians and electricians was superb. Everything is amazing and of top quality, from the actual condensers and head units, to the pipes, wires, thermostats, etc etc. It’s all of great quality!!
We weren’t sure how it would end up looking with all these pipes running along the outside walls of our house. But they did such a great job of blending and hiding everything to fit in and match the design of our house. I think our house looks even better since it is now updated with all this great technology and top quality equipment. And like I said, it was their top priority to make everything blend in and match the design of our house.
Even before they began, they were very thorough when drawing up the diagram of our house and the work to be done, which included 30+ pages of a proposal, which included pictures and floor plans, and was very easy to follow, and they explained everything step by step.
And when they first arrived, John, who was our head technician, walked through and explained the location of everything that was going to be installed both inside and outside. The head electrician, Eric, also did the same with all the electric work he was going to do. And they wanted to make sure I was 100% happy with everything. And they answered all my questions, throughout the whole install, and addressed all my concerns, and made all the custom modifications that I requested.
I could honestly write so many more good things about the entire experience, even with how friendly they were with any questions I had after the work was done. I hope if you are considering any plumbing or heating work to be done at your house, to trust me when I say, this company is definitely worth your consideration. You will be very happy with your choice.
After getting a Mass Save energy assessment. This was the company that was contracted to replace my heating system. I have had issues since they installed it. They came out multiple times to “fix” an issue. One guy had to call technical support because he didn’t know what he was doing. The latest call the secretary called at 10:08 today (8/15) and said they will be there within an hour. They showed up 2 1/2 hours later. They claim the city over pressurized the system to 130 psi. They went out get a part they needed. When they came back they said part was fine. I don’t know if they actually changed it. Then they left and a couple of hours later they came with an expansion tank (even though I already have one). They said state approved the second expansion tank. One of the technician named Rob was swearing about how the pipes aren’t straight and how he couldn’t figure out how to put the install second expansion tank. They said it’s no longer leaking when they left. I went to do a load of laundry and there was an error code for an issue with water pressure. I looked up and noticed they disconnected the water hoses for the washer without telling me they disconnected them. As I was doing laundry I noticed it was still leaking.
Ledi was very efficient and worked so quickly. Him and his team so professional. They completed the job in my home in less than 3 days. They stayed past their working hours to make sure I had my heat running in my home. 10/10 definitely recommend
Ledi and partner did a thorough job on our furnace today. Very pleased with how they communicated with us and were respectful of our home by covering their shoes. Very knowledgeable of their profession and both were kind and respectful. Thank you for sending us your finest employees.
