I have been an Orkin costumer for over 2 years. For the most part I was satisfied with their service. I loved our technician Trey Oliver he was awesome. However the other technicians weren’t as thorough. Recently I had an issue w rodents in my yard. It took several tries to get someone to answer my call. After discussing a solution they were going to charge my a total separate bill for the rodent issue not willing to bundle my current plan which was their most comprehensive. I had to go with another company that would bundle all the services for a cheaper price. It took my over a week of leaving voice messages and calling to get them back on the phone to cancel my contract. Once I finally got someone on the phone he was rude and unapologetic. He told me I had to pay for one more service due to a 30 day notice for cancellation. Today the technician showed up to do my last service, he was there for less than 10 minutes he barely sprayed my yard and left my gate wide open. We told him we had dogs to close the gate and he didn’t care. It was almost like he knew it was the last service so he did the bare minimum and did a half ass job. I sure payed them in full though. Not happy about Orkin at all !
Last year, we moved here from Atlanta, and Orkin provided a quote on termite service. At that time, they noticed carpenter ants and told me that termite service would also take care of the ants. They also inspected my attic and told me I had a rodent infestation, which required about $10,000 in remediation and new insulation.
We had never seen any rodents, and their cost seemed very high. So I signed up for the termite/ant treatments and got a second opinion on the attic work. We did not have an infestation, nor did we need new insulation. This was clearly a scam. Then, when a tech came out to check the bait stations, I mentioned something about the carpenter ants, and he informed me that I was not receiving treatment for the ant problem. This is not what the sales rep told me. I called the office and left three messages for Michael, the sales representative, but he never called me back.
Orkin is a large company with many franchises that I assume are ethical. However, based on my experience, the Roanoke franchise is unethical, and I highly recommend avoiding this company.
Deon, Prince & Robert did a great job. Very efficient in removing old insulation, sealing all holes in attic, then blowing in new insulation and treating around both houses. 10 out 10.
The gentleman was very polite. After he finished, he explained what he found doing the vapor barrier and how it worked. He also explained the bait stations outside. I did not catch his name. He provided excellent service. Cleaned up everything. I am very pleased.
Orkin has been really good to us for several years. But my last appointment was rescheduled due to weather in February and was scheduled on the 28th. No one ever showed up. Then I look at my bank statement and got charged for the service. I’ve tried calling multiple times with no answer or call backs from left messages. Also not happy that this service has went up every year without notice.
