My hot water stopped working and I called Tommie’s Plumbing to come out and determine the issue. The techs that came out were very polite but that is the only good thing from my experience with Tommie’s Plumbing. I was informed that our tankless hot water heater needed to be replaced because the combustion chamber was bad. They provided 3 estimates ranging from $5500.00 up to 6500.00. This seemed astronomical since the unit was only 5 years old. I asked if the bad part could not be replaced and was told no that the whole unit needed replacing. We paid the $69.00 service fee and informed them that we were not going to make a decision to spend that much without checking. We contacted a company that works with gas appliances and was extremely familiar with tankless hot water heaters. When they came out they contacted the manufacturer and gave them the error code performed some tests and determined the recirculation pump had gone bad. The unit was under warranty and sent out a new recirculation pump for free. We had our tankless serviced and the new pump installed for $340.00. I feel as though Tommie’s should train their employees better on fixing issues instead of trying to only sell new and unnecessary appliances by fabricating false claims of broken irreparable parts.
