Tony’s Pest Killers

I hired Tony’s Pest Killers for rodent control and later for mold treatment and vapor barrier replacement in my crawlspace, based on positive reviews. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing, especially considering the $4,217 I paid for both jobs.
Issues Encountered:
1. Poor Customer Service: The rodent treatment included an unexpected $16.83 credit card processing fee, which was not disclosed upfront (the amount of the fee is not the issue as each of the techs for the crawlspace job were given a $40 tip before I realized the job was left incomplete). While agreeing not to charge me the fee on future jobs, Tony called me to chastise me about complaining about the fee because he believes he charges less than his competitors for services provided. How much Tony charges in relation to his competitors is irrelevant to the fact that I was forced to pay an avoidable fee. Tony’s response to my concerns regarding the incomplete vapor barrier installation was equally unprofessional and dismissive.
2. Incomplete and Haphazard Work on the crawlspace job:
• The job was scheduled from 9am to 6:30pm, but the techs arrived late without notification, and the work was completed after 8pm.
• The vapor barrier installation was unprofessional and incomplete, with visible ground, dirt on the barrier, and improperly pinned sections. Trash/debris was left under and on top of the barrier despite a $1,280 charge for trash removal.

After sharing photos and videos of the incomplete work, Tony agreed to send someone to finish the job but at the same time made excuses for the techs who started the job. He assured me the vapor barrier would address humidity issues, but when the humidity in my house reached 80%, he suggested contacting a home inspector instead of measuring the crawlspace humidity as promised.

Despite paying several thousand dollars, I decided not to pursue the matter further due to the stress involved. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision about Tony’s Pest Killers.

I have attached the emails as you suggested. As you can clearly see I brought up my concerns about humidity levels and you responded to my concerns including offering to come out during the spring to measure the humidity level in the crawl space. However, you have since reneged on this offer and instead have offered to provide me with the number for a home inspector. These email exchanges were prior to me discovering that the crawlspace job was left incomplete. Also, I never said I did not like the black plastic. I simply asked what was the difference between the white and black plastic. Period. Your ease in lying truly amazes me.

Yes, I encourage everyone to go to Yelp to read Tony’s response to my review and my edit to include text message and email exchanges between me and Tony to rebut Tony’s claims/lies. Tony’s responses to my reviews (and the lies included therein) should tell you everything you need to know about his character and how he runs his business.

Note: The owner has deleted his unprofessional and dismissive response that was filled with lies. His now deleted response provided further support for the issues outlined in my review. This action should tell you even more about this man’s character and how he runs his business.

Top quality service! They send out reminders prior to arrival and they are always on time. Haven’t seen a bug once they started treating. One of the technicians this past visit noticed my new puppy and advised me to not let her near the baseboards for 2 hours. It just goes to show the kind of people they are that he took the time to help protect my four legged princess.

I had a roach issue, called up Tony with Tonys Pest Killers they gave me the best price $ and got rid of the roaches with 2 treatments. I couldn’t recommend them enough, thanks again TPK!
