15 years ago, I had Henson- Robinson install my furnace and after that, I promised myself I would not use them again. I tried to tell the installer there needed to be a vent in the cold air return, like there was before, but he wouldn’t listen. My air froze and it was hot out. They had to come back the next day and fix that. He dripped PVC glue on my basement floor he also made a mess when he installed the thermostat. This time when the first guy arrived, I explained where to wear the booties they carry but apparently, he didn’t listen because he tracked mud on my carpet with the booties on, so I assume he left then on when he went outside or left them on in the furnace area, where they were tracking large amounts of debris in. They gouged my floor, how I don’t know. The filter slot is poorly formed and needs to be fixed. They zip tied my condensate pump line so tight that it was crushing the plastic line making the pump work harder and longer. They wired it wrong because my outside air conditioning unit would not come on. They did come back and fixed that. The installers took 25 feet of copper pipe that was the condensate drain line and didn’t ask if I wanted it. He should have at least asked. That stuff’s worth money. When the “expert” came to fix the outside unit problem I asked about the thermostat they put in and he said, I knew more about it than he did. I still don’t think it is operating properly. I don’t have time to chase them around trying to get this done right. These guys are a union shop, and you pay for that. I will never use them again, and this time I mean it. Thank you for your time.
2021 Review: I just moved into a 100+ year old home with a boiler and radiators. JT did an excellent job explaining the heating system to me and making sure everything was running properly. He also installed a new Nest thermostat. We’re pleased with the service and will definitely use Henson Robinson again!
Update 2 Years Later: Unfortunately, my old system eventually was unable to be repaired and we needed to replace the boiler. It was expensive (about 9K), but the work is beautiful, and I know that it’s a high quality RELIABLE system. Very pleased with the speed and professionalism of the install, and I’m grateful for the communication along the way.
Well, Petersburg, plumbing and excavation came in to install a pipe for the city.
Came back and threw seed down thought that was the end of it, and then they came back and aerated the yard and threw fresh soil down to help the seed grow .
definitely good service was not expecting them to come back for a follow up as they did !
Henson Robinson has been my go to for hvac for the last few years. I have used other companies and have had not so great experiences. HR is fair, friendly, and always helpful!
EDIT to intitial review” first off this is my second review I’ve ever left in total so it’s not my style to try to attack service or companies. I am changing them to a solid 4 as the initial install did have some errors that caused my coolant leak. However they came back out to review this and sent out a fantastic employee that diagnosed the problem quickly and now our AC is working like new. They stood by their work/mistake and I want to leave the below to show I stand corrected and they took accountability and fixed the problem. I would absolutely recommend them and use them again for future endeavors. Apologies for my frustrations as this had been an on going problem for almost two years on a 5 year old Rheem AC. Either way thank you again.
Had them come out 3 separate times to fix an ac unit not cooling. Never really properly diagnosed the problem before making fixes. 1st time said it was the capacitor which is common and understandable. Replaced that didn’t fix it. Then checked of course coolant levels and checked for leaks. None. The. Said the txv wasn’t reading right and needed replaced. Talked me into that hefty cost and STILL was not fixed. Yes the unit is clean and cleaned once thoroughly every year. They proceeded to not cover any charges even though by now every diagnosis wasn’t a confirmed diagnosis but a shot In the dark. Also while trying to do the old song and dance ever recommending a new unit. It’s a rheem that is only 6 years old. So nice of your company to try and sell me a new unit. My family states away works in the AC plumbing and heating and all of the test they would have ran were not done by your company. Now I’m actually here a year after your service with a malfunctioning AC that runs but won’t cool and 1/4 the cost In of a new AC. Feels like you did this job lazily and did not try to diagnose my problem. The service guy was nice but I can’t say much more than that.
