We hired Prairie State Plumbing and Heating to repair clogged sewer lines at my parents house. It was late in the day when we called and we really weren’t expecting them to be able to make it for a few days; however, the crew was there bright and early the next morning accessing the situation. They ran into some issues with tree limbs blocking the lines and had to bring in special piece of equipment to resolve the issue. The owner himself showed up to assist and make sure everything was in order and done right. On top of the outstanding crew, the price was very reasonable for such a huge project and the work was done right. I would highly recommend Prairie State Plumbing and Heating. I have no complaints whatsoever. They are a great company to do business with.
I called them to come to my house on a Thursday. They told me that I would have to pay overtime for that day, so I scheduled it the next day at 11. The next day they didn’t show up until 3:30pm so I still had to pay overtime. The job required that they dig up the street in front of my house. They said they would get back with me. They never called me back over the weekend. Monday, I had to call them twice for them to tell me they won’t do the job. I’m out over $900 for nothing having been done and several days wasted that I could have used a different plumber. Would NOT recommend.
Restoring well-water service was provided professionally and promptly (on the heels of another company Not answering follow-up calls). A broken (frozen) well-pump was replaced, and trouble-shooting ensued as it was not functioning properly once replaced. Jordan worked hard at finding the cause, and championed it after investing his own time to figure it out, and reset the pump to function properly. He wrapped up the work by redesigning and repairing plumbing lines so this mishap would not be repeated, but could be avoided by some simple maintenance I could do. Much of the work was in a mud basement—old fruit cellar—tight and not very pleasant conditions. He trouble-shot a couple other minor issues, along with Steve helping, the 2nd day.
There are truly not enough words of thanks to say for the great (albeit grungy) work that was done. His expertise applied repairs that I could not have done on my own, which restored water to my home, and left it functioning Better than it had been.
I believe Jason reflects the principles of this company, which seems to operate with the old-fashioned, country values of helping out a neighbor in a reasonable, cost-effective manner.
Will definitely call them for help with any future needs (that will hopefully be a lot more tidy)!
Wish I could give 10 stars!! I can’t praise Prairie State enough for the excellent service and reasonable prices. Doug always does a fantastic job of maintaining our heat pump system. He calls me when the seasons change to set a time to come and make sure everything is ready for the winter or summer. He also came when we had an issue with the condensate drain getting clogged so water was leaking on the floor–had it all taken care of in about 30-40 minutes. He is very good at explaining what he is doing, what parts might be needed and why, and just in general is great at what he does!! Thanks Doug, and thanks Prairie State!!
Doug always does a fantastic job! We have had him come to our home for a few things now, and are very satisfied with the work every time! Also wanted to give billing a shoutout!!! They are soooooo beyond patient and have been so nice during this whole process! We won’t be going anywhere else and will recommend!! 12/10 give them a call for all your hvac and plumbing needs!
